Along the Loir, the mills bear witness to an economic activity that was once essential to the valley. Wheat or rye flour, walnut or rapeseed oil, paper, tanning or hemp processing were all produced here thanks to the river’s energy. Some mills were also used for fulling cloth, sawmills and even ice production.
