La Flèche: the great gourmet rendezvous 

To thewest of the Vallée du Loir in the Sarthe, La Flèche has two of the most dynamic markets in the department. Located in the town centre, they offer a wide choice of fresh produce and local specialities. The perfect opportunity to enjoy the gentle Fléchois way of life as you stroll between the colourful stalls.

Nearby, you can also visit the Clermont-Créans market (place de l’église, Thursday afternoons) and the Chapelle d’Aligné market on Friday mornings. You can also buy local produce at the Crosmières farmers’ market on Friday afternoons (at a place called l’Etournière).

Le Lude and Montval-sur-Loir markets 

In the centre of the Loir Valley, the markets at Le Lude and Montval-sur-Loir are ideal places to stock up on good produce. You’ll find local fruit and vegetables, farmhouse cheeses, meat, flowers, home-made delicacies and a warm atmosphere typical of the valley.
