Description
‘Composing with the Body’ exhibition at the Hôtel Dieu in Baugé
Temporary exhibition from 11 September to 11 October 2026, forming part of the Hôtel-Dieu visitor route.
In partnership with the CMT-France association, ‘Composer avec le corps’ is a group exhibition that explores how the body—whether sick, frail or rendered invisible—can become a space for creativity. Dedicated to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, it offers an artistic perspective that deliberately moves away from a strictly medical or documentary approach in favour of a sensitive, poetic and embodied interpretation.
The exhibition brings together four complementary approaches, each exploring in its own way the relationship to the body, memory and transformation:
- Solène Goget presents sculptures and textual installations that convey, through material and space, the vibrations and intimate transformations of the body. Her work gives form to often imperceptible sensations and prompts reflection on bodily memory and lived experience.
- Josiane Ulrich exhibits a series of linocuts in which the graphic gesture becomes a trace and an imprint. Through repetition, the engraving inscribes a sensitive resonance of experience into the material.
- Dominique Drouet and Philippe Le Guern present a photo-biographical project combining images and narratives. Through a dialogue between photography and personal testimony, they bring to life life stories that can be seen and heard, blending an artistic perspective with personal accounts.
