Opéra de Baugé 2026 - Donizetti's "Don Pasquale" in Baugé

Don Pasquale is determined to see his nephew and heir, Ernesto, marry the girl he has chosen for him. But Ernesto refuses: he is madly in love with Norina. Outraged, Pasquale decides that if his nephew does not give him an heir, he will marry her himself, despite his age. He enlists the help of his doctor, Malatesta... without suspecting that Malatesta is secretly in league with Ernesto and Norina to teach the old bachelor a memorable lesson.
