Description
Le chant d'Orphée" show at the Jules Desbois Museum in Parçay-les-Pins
"A long, long time ago, Orpheus lived".
Le chant d'Orphée is a lyrical tale for a family audience. Alone on stage with her viola da gamba, Marie-Bénédicte Souquet has chosen arias from the operas of Monteverdi, Gluck and Purcell to sing and tell the story of Orpheus. Orpheus, full of determination, leaves for the underworld, defying all prohibitions for the love of his Eurydice. The song of Orpheus tells of love, death, determination, courage, confidence and doubt. It's the story of a fragile life.
By prior arrangement, all ages 6 and up, 45min.
