Armand Koestinger, a young performance artist and graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts de Paris, has been in residence at the Moulins de Paillard since November 2025. He will be working in a creative environment at the arts centre, where he will be able to meet the people of the Vallée du Loir and develop his solo performance.

Accompanied by the Paillard team and guest artists, Armand is working on the creation of temps plein, a performance in which he takes the place of the scarecrow, a figure of solitude and presence. "It's a dance in which I start from the simple fact of being there, of having to stay there, like a sentinel waiting, finding ways of getting bored despite the constraints. It's an attempt to make peace with the passing of time.

The Atelier de fabrique artistique Les Moulins de Paillard invites the public to come and discover Armand's work in progress on Saturday 17 January at 5pm, in the Théâtre de la Feuille Infinie at the former paper mill in Poncé sur le Loir. This end-of-residency presentation is an opportunity to unveil the young artist's initial research and choreographic ideas. The 20-minute presentation will be followed by a discussion between Armand and the audience.

At the same time, Armand is running a series of workshops for residents of the Vallée du Loir. In a number of cultural and social venues across the region (libraries, cultural spaces, Microfolie, old people's homes, etc.), he offers workshops for people of all ages, with or without dance experience, encouraging encounters, exchanges and joint creation. Drawing on the collective imagination, folk references and simple gestures that allow the body to interact with its environment, participants learn to write movement through repetition.

Year after year, Paillard imagines contexts and carries out actions that enable valuable exchanges between artists and local audiences. This residency is part of Un tournant de saison, a programme of mediation and creation offered by Paillard to guest artists and the residents of the Vallée du Loir. The dialogues initiated and the stories imagined collectively by the artists and local participants are designed to be relevant and lasting. Dancing in the Vallée, weaving links from east to west, between yesterday and today, neighbours and generations, with the world around us and the stories that make it up - that's what this programme is all about!

This programme is supported by the Ministère de la Culture-DRAC des Pays de la Loire, as part of the Résidence en ruralité scheme.
