Christoph Weber is a Viennese conceptual sculptor whose work explores matter and the processes of transformation, and questions the relationship between humans and the environment. His favourite material, concrete - the second most widely used substance in the world after water - becomes a vehicle for questioning the political, social and ecological issues of our time. With Vulnerable Bodies, the artist explores the vivacity and robustness of another stone, tuffeau, a local and natural resource in the Vallée du Loir.
"These practices of demolition, breaking, pebbling, ransacking and crushing are at the heart of brutalism in its political acceptation [...] Propelled by both old machines and the most advanced computational technologies, they are profoundly futuristic and will carry a singular weight over the future of the earth. They have a geological, molecular and neurological dimension".

The Moulins de Paillard
