The château is opposite the manor house of La Possonnière, where Ronsard lived, next to the châteaux of Poncé and Courtanvaux, and close to many villages, including a troglodyte, churches and châteaux that dot the Loir region.

There are plenty of activities on offer, including parks for youngsters such as Papéa, Spaycific'zoo and the 24-hour museum in Le Mans. The Marçon leisure centre, 30 minutes away, offers a wide range of sports (sailing, tennis, horse-riding, canoeing, hot-air ballooning, etc.).

In August, don't miss the 'Marçon Classique', a gathering of over 1,000 old cars, and at the end of August you can attend the Poncé sur le Loir music festival.

    Description of the château :

You will be accommodated in the recently renovated eastern part of the château.

On the ground floor there is a large living room, a dining room opening onto a small TV room, a kitchen and a bedroom for people with reduced mobility with its own bathroom.

On the first floor, there are 4 bedrooms, one of which is a suite with its own small sitting room. Upstairs, each bedroom has double beds that can be separated into single beds.

On the terrace, there is a 9m x 4m swimming pool with a summer lounge in the orangery and a room where you can play table tennis or table football in summer.

    History of the château :

The first traces of the château date back to the 12th century. The du Bellay and Hautefort families (including Marie, who was the platonic mistress of Louis XIII and lady-in-waiting and confidante of Queen Anne of Austria, who was exiled to the château by Richelieu) lived here. After the French Revolution, the Marquis de La Rochebousseau renovated the château, adding period decor in the Violet de Duc style. Since then, the château has remained in the family of its owners.
